How to use this jaap mala
A mala traditionally has 108 beads. One complete round is one mala of japa. Sit with a tall spine, choose one Ganesh mantra, and tap the counter once for each recitation. If the mind wanders, return to the sound without scolding yourself. Beginners may stop at 11 or 21 and grow toward 108. This digital mala stores your count in the browser so you can pause and continue on the same device.
Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha is the default chant on this page because it is short, widely known, and suited to a steady rhythm. You may equally use Vakratunda Mahakaya, a naam from the 108 names, or the mantra of the day. After the mala is complete, sit for a few silent breaths, then continue with Ganesh Aarti or a short reading. The counter is a support for attention; it is not a score, and it does not replace a physical mala or a teacher if you have one.
